Virtual Interior Design is for homeowners anywhere in Australia who want professional interior design advice without needing an in-home designer. It’s ideal if you’re renovating, furnishing a new home, updating one or more rooms, struggling with a layout, unsure what to buy, or simply want a clear design direction before making expensive decisions. Whether you’re in a capital city, regional town or somewhere further afield, you can work directly with us from the comfort of your own home — with the same considered, practical design advice you’d receive in person.
Before your consultation, you’ll provide photographs or video of your space, measurements, a floor plan if you have one, and details of your existing furniture and what you’re hoping to achieve. You can also share inspiration images, ideas or products you’re considering. During your two-hour consultation via Zoom, Teams or FaceTime, we will work with you to solve your design challenges, talk through layouts, furniture and finishes, and give you clear, practical direction for moving forward. You’ll leave with a much clearer understanding of what to keep, what to change, what to buy and what to do next — helping you make confident decisions and avoid costly mistakes. Because we’re working virtually, we are relying on the measurements, photographs and information you provide rather than us measuring the room for you. This means recommendations involving exact furniture fit, clearances or spatial dimensions need to be checked against your measurements before purchasing. Where accurate dimensions are critical, we will flag this with you. Virtual design works particularly well for design direction, furniture selection, styling, colour, finishes and solving many layout challenges, but it isn't a substitute for an on-site measure or professionally drawn architectural plans where those are required.
Do I need to live in Sydney to work with you?
No. Virtual Interior Design is available Australia-wide. You can work with us from anywhere in Australia via Zoom, Teams or FaceTime.
How does a virtual consultation work?
Before your consultation, you’ll send through photographs or video of your space, measurements and any other relevant information. If you have a floor plan, you can provide that too. During your two-hour consultation, we will work with you to solve your design challenges and give you practical direction for your home.
What if I don't have a floor plan?
That's okay. You don't need a professionally drawn floor plan for a virtual consultation. We'll work with the measurements and information you provide. If a particular recommendation requires more precise measurements, we will let you know.
Can you help me with furniture layouts virtually?
Yes. Furniture layouts can be worked through virtually using your room dimensions, photographs and furniture measurements. However, because we aren't physically measuring the room, you'll need to verify dimensions and clearances before purchasing furniture. We will identify where this is particularly important.
Can you help me choose furniture and products?
Yes. You can discuss furniture, lighting, rugs, artwork, colours, finishes and other design decisions during your consultation. You can also bring products you're considering purchasing and get professional advice before you commit.
Can you help me with more than one room?
The two-hour consultation can cover the areas that will give you the most value, depending on the scope of your project. If you have several rooms or a larger project, we can advise you on the most appropriate way to approach it.
Will I receive anything after the consultation?
You'll receive clear direction on the decisions discussed during your consultation, along with written follow-up where applicable. The aim is to leave you knowing what to do next, rather than with a list of more things to figure out.
What if I'm not sure whether virtual design is right for my project?
That's completely fine. Get in touch and tell us a little about your home and what you're trying to achieve. We can help you work out whether a Virtual Interior Design Consultation is the right starting point or whether another service would be more suitable.
