Mediterranean Inspired Interior

Recently My Decorator did the interior design for a client who wanted to freshen up her home with a new modern look.  Our client wanted to keep the artwork in her family room as it holds personal significance and she also had a beautiful Santorini Print that she had purchased while overseas and wanted this incorporated into her new interior.

Visitors to the home are welcomed with a new look casual feel entry.  A rustic timber console table sits on a round textured hemp rug with wrought iron mirror and big stone jugs and vases.

The Santorini Print became the inspiration for the overall Mediterranean style that was used throughout the interior spaces. We had the print framed and it now sits pride of place above the new leather lounge suite in the Lounge room.

The Mediterranean inspired interior style works beautifully with the existing terracotta tiled floor and timber furniture, accents of wrought iron were introduced along with natural earthy elements by way of natural hemp rugs, stoneware and indoor plants.  New carpet was laid along with some new ceiling lights with wrought iron feature.  Two new upholstered chairs in a modern print sit in front of the new curtains at the bay window in the Lounge room. These changes really transform the room and is such a light contrast to the dark feel that the space previously had.

The Mediterranean style carries through to the family room with the clients existing lounge, artwork and coffee table but a new rug was sourced along with scatter cushions, lamps, large oversize pot for indoor plant and other decorator accessories, the Family room has a real islander retreat look about it.

Overall the home has a lovely friendly inviting casual atmosphere where it’s owners can relax and enjoy their new interior spaces.  It was a pleasure working with my client on this transformation!
