Something to brighten your day

MD Meanderings

I was looking for a particular flower arrangement for a client the other day and was having trouble finding a picture of what I had in my minds eye, which off course led to a massive hunt.
Pictured is a culmination of some floral arrangements that I discovered along the way.  Hope you enjoy them as much as i do.  Happy meandering!

Floods

MD Meanderings

I’ve been horrified to see the terrible floods that have been effecting those living in Queensland. Its truly heartbreaking.

I have been so proud of our Aussie spirit, it is shining so brightly during these darkest days.

Can I encourage you to give to the flood victims at:  http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html

My prayers and thoughts are with the Aussies across our nation who have been affected one way or another by these floods.

Happy New Year!

Red Sheds

This Post is dedicated to Red Sheds!  I love these red shed’s pictured.  They remind me of our trip to the South Island of New Zealand.  I was browsing through our snaps the other day, looking for my red shed photo’s as I thought I had taken loads of them but it turns out that I didn’t have any after all.
Never mind here are a few, for your viewing pleasure.  I love the brightness of the red, and it’s contrast to the lush green fields.  It really captured my attention and I really appreciated the effort the farmers put in to painting their sheds red!  I hope you like them too…..

Spring Blossoms

MD Meanderings

“Faith sees a beautiful blossom in a bulb, a lovely garden in a seed and a giant oak in an acorn”.
William Arthur Ward.
I know that we are experiencing summers heat right now, but I was remembering back to a few months ago when it was the first few days of spring and how it was richly marked (well to me anyway) by beautiful blossoms like these.
One particular morning I was standing at a pedestrian crossing admiring a blossom tree on the opposite side of the road while waiting for the lights to change.  This arrangement was inspired by this moment!

Brooke Fraser

MD Meanderings

One of my favourite things is music.  I think music is a very important addition to creating a much loved room or space.

I enjoy kicking back and listening to a new album while I have a cup of lady gray tea and a flick through a magazine. My favourite album this month would definitely be ‘Flags’ by Brooke Fraser. I love all her albums but this is her latest. Brooke’s genre is folk/pop.

Check out her album on iTunes  http://itunes.apple.com/au/album/flags-bonus-track-version/id395080424.  I have also included her blog named ‘Bespoke’ under My Blog List.
