Sometimes it's the unexpected items that elevate a rooms style.⠀ Image: @lucycall Design: @studiomcgee What sort of 'welcome' does your home give? We love this entrance, it's so friendly and grand at the same time. The round table fills the space perfectly and the oversize vase and blossom arrangement are the perfect scale for the room. The rug picks up the black in the balustrades and being soft underfoot makes the space immediately feel warm and welcoming. Tell us about your entry and what you love about it. Image: @lucycall Design: @studiomcgee Our client had a hardfloor media room that she was wanting to style so it was more inviting. We arranged for a custom rug to be made for this room which acoustically made a big difference but also visually softens the room and makes it more inviting. We chose a statement abstract piece of art and it’s as though it was made for the space. An open frame side table and lamp complement the armchair and create a nice sitting nook. An indoor palm finishes the look.⠀ ⠀ Our client said when we were leaving the final styling session that her home looks amazing, she couldn’t believe the transformation! What are you grateful for today? I'm grateful that I get to take in this gorgeous loungeroom, such a beautiful open spacious room. But alas, it doesn’t work that way and we shouldn’t want it to either. In my experience, when one door closes another opens. When I first started My Decorator, I didn’t know ANYthing about running a business but through all the twists and turns, it brought me to where I am today and I wouldn’t trade my journey for the world! Maybe putting in a new kitchen? One of the best tips we can give re working out your kitchen design or layout is study how you use your kitchen today. What activities do you do the most? Maybe you are avid tea drinkers, so it may be best to design a hot drinks station close to the fridge. You could be a baker so it would make sense to have two big drawers for your pans, as opposed to one along with very easy access to your bake goods such as flours etc... Taking the time to plan your kitchen on this level is going to result in a well functioning kitchen for everyone.
