My Decorator had the beautiful opportunity of designing and implementing the décor for Vanessa and James’ recent Wedding. The couple even had their reception in the very hall where they first met in their early teen years – so cute! It was a truly special day where wonderful memories were made.
The bride chose a vintage theme so I really enjoyed scheming and sourcing all things vintage. Simple white lace bows graced the pews at the church and stunning flower arrangements created by one of Ness’s florist friends were displayed at the front of the alter. The church itself featured amazing modern styled stain glass windows, these windows framed the lush native bush setting that surrounds the church.
The reception was in a function hall around the corner from the church, so we all gathered in the foyer of the hall and enjoyed Hors d’oeuvre, champagne, tea and coffee. We then entered the reception room. I had in true vintage theme used lace doilies for the centre of each round table that seated 10 and we placed a selection of bud vases with carnations in each, a vintage lantern, some crystal look tea light holders, pearls and a vintage framed photo of the bride and groom each table had a selection of various photos of when they first met many years ago along with recent photos which really added a personalised touch to the day.
Extra additions were vintage birdcages that featured old photo’s of love-birds, vintage postcards and the like these were hung on the walls and also asymmetrical from the ceiling suspending over the stage which created some depth of field. The bride found a fabulous old suitcase that we draped with voile and used as the wishing well.
